Dr Deller is a respiratory physician with longstanding ties to the Gold Coast community. Raised and educated locally, he completed his medical degree at the University of Queensland before postgraduate training across several major Brisbane hospitals — including The Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital, The Prince Charles Hospital, and Greenslopes Private Hospital.
Returning to the Gold Coast in 2012, Dr Deller established his private respiratory practice at Pindara Hospital, where he developed one of the region's comprehensive endobronchial ultrasound (EBUS) services — enabling accurate, minimally invasive diagnosis and staging of lung cancer.
Dr Deller has played a significant role in the national response to occupational lung disease. During the emergence of engineered stone-related silicosis in Australia, he was involved in the early clinical response and served as an adviser to the National Dust Disease Taskforce.
He continues to see both inpatients and outpatients daily, with a practice centred on the diagnosis and management of lung disease and a strong commitment to evidence-based, personalised care.
